Past and upcoming events to demonstrate support for the people of Burma!

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3 (anything but...that).

Now beginning the "San Francisco Action for Burma" blog, hosted by the Burmese American Democratic Alliance of San Francisco (BADASF or simply BADA), the U.S. Campaign for Burma (USCB) and other affiliated organizations and concerned activists.

Please check here regularly for details on upcoming events in the SF/Bay area demonstrating solidarity and support for the people of Burma's struggle, as well as to compel constructive and meaningful action by the international community and communities around the globe.

Recently we have been campaigning heavily to urge China to employ its incomparable leverage with the military government to inspire an end to the violence and beginning of a peaceful national reconcilliation process between the junta, the National League for Democracy (including the to-be-released Peace Nobel Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi) and the ethnic minority political groups. This is necessary for a peaceful transition to a democratic government that respects human rights.

Also to be posted are opportunities to volunteer, get involved, assist in preparations, etc. Thank you all for all your support, time, passion and energy.

Let's keep up the momentum, keep Burma on the world's radar and do everything we can to contribute to the people of Burma's struggle for peace, democracy and human rights!
